For our last activity we decided to do ball throwing. We decided for our activities that we would kind of teach each other something that each of us were good at, so since I play football and DJ plays dodgeball we taught the group how to throw a ball. First I showed the group how to grip the laces of a football then how to step up and throw it. DJ also showed how he throws and catches his dodgeball as well. Even though this activity may seem simple it we had a little problems in the beginning. One time I forgot who I was throwing the ball to and I almost took one of the girls heads off. But besides that the activity went well and was very fun. I think this last activity was successful and went smooth because by time we did the ball throwing we all knew each other pretty well. Also we knew from previous activities what to do and what not to do. Since this was our last activity I think we addressed all of the problems that may have occurred with planning our previous activities, so i wouldn't say there is much we need to improve on. We did ask a random girl walking down the side walk to take our picture so i guess next time we can bring a camera person. But other than that everything was good, we enjoyed hanging out with one another and learning the fundamentals of ball throwing!

Cartwheeling

When we proposed the idea during our meeting of doing cartwheels as one of our activities, everyone was excited. DJ explained that he didn’t know how to do one. So, when we got to Godwin field yesterday, we had DJ show us his attempt at cartwheeling. It was basically a forward-roll that ended in him flopping on his back. However, his next attempt was much better.  I think as a group we had fun. It was also the first activity that we got to do outside, so that was nice. Cartwheeling was successful, our group was flexible, on time, and we came with positive attitudes!
The picture depicts us doing a cartwheel, from left to right: DJ, Dre, Daniella, me (Ashanti), and Denisa.

One thing that we can improve on for the future is planning for possible changes/cancelations due to weather. We scheduled ball throwing for an earlier date, but due to unforeseen weather constraints, practice schedules, classes, and other previous commitments the only other day available to complete the activity was yesterday, which was when cartwheeling was scheduled. However, like previously mentioned the group was as flexible as possible and didn’t complain about changing locations or staying later so that we could complete both activities.

Taco Night!

As a group, we sat down and had a meal. With the ingredients we bought at Walmart, we decided to have a taco night. Originally, we had planned to throw the ball around as well. However, the previous night had brought some rain and we agreed that it was too wet to do much outside. So, we all showed up at Daniella's boyfriend's apartment in Copper Beech, enjoyed the fine mexican cuisine, and talked about our plans for the weekend. At first, it was a bit awkward because we didn't really know each other very well, but we eventually became more comfortable. We also gave some background information on ourselves like where we were from, what we like to do for fun, etc. It was really fun getting to know each other and learning about each other's lives. At the end of the meal, we discussed the plans for our other activities. Then, we said goodbye to each other  and went home.
One thing that we could improve upon for the next activity was to relax and become more comfortable talking to each other, but I think our taco night definitely proved we can do that.

Wal- Mart

The first activity we decided to do for our project was a trip to Wal-Mart.  This gave us a chance to really get to know each other’s diets and eating habits.  From food to cleansing essentials, it was interesting to see the different necessities of each individual.  Understanding people’s daily routines made it easier to recognize their personalities.  After shopping for personal items, we began to search for products that we would need for our group dinner in a couple days.  We had agreed on having a taco night, therefore we began our search for shells, beef, and other condiments.  After finding everything we needed, we proceeded to check out.  The trip had allowed us all to bond as a group and be more familiar with each other.  After finishing the preparation for our dinner, we are all excited for our next activity together.

Business Meeting

When our group first got assigned we decided to get a meeting going right away so that we could get working on the project. The group established that going to dinner would be somewhat awkward and potentially silent considering we didn't know each other. We decided to meet at Carrier Library and hold our business meeting.
We said "smile" Dre said "I'm looking off in the distance," and we ended up with this after our long meeting :)

The majority of our group has sports commitments and extra curricular obligations that resulted in the decision that we want to get this project done and out of the way ASAP. Unbeknownst to the rest of the group I started getting the calendar ready and organizing the group contract so we could fly through the meeting. During the meeting we got to know each other as well as establish our group contract and create ideas for our ING project. We agreed on dates and when we were going to have our dinner as well as the rest of our meetings. So far the group is working well together and projects and early completion of our project. Everyone seems excited to meet up for dinner where it will be less awkward and more relaxed of a setting.
